Within NAS, there are three Cross-cutting Units
The Objectives of NAS Monitoring and Evaluation is to establish and maintain monitoring and evaluation systems to track the activities of SHARP funded and non-SHARP funded grantee, monitor progress in the implementation of SHARP component activities and guide SHARP project adjustments, assess partners' overall achievements in responding to the potential impact of the spread of AIDS, monitor the trend of the epidemic and identify behaviors that fuel the epidemic by conducting epidemiological surveys, and provide relevant data for program planning.
The objective of the IEC/BCC unit of NAS includes the provision technical oversight of IEC/BCC activities of partners by providing guidelines, and building the capacity of partners in implementing effective IEC/BCC programs appropriate for each community.
With respect to capacity development, the objective of this unit is to develop relevant training and capacity building materials for the various target groups and/or CCSI applicants, and conduct/coordinate training and capacity development programs

The Government of Sierra Leone has received a grant from the German Government through KfW to the tune of EUR 6 Million Euro to finance sexual reproductive health Programme for the period 2013 - 2017. The programme includes HIV prevention through social marketing of condoms and behaviour change communication measures as well as Impact Mitigation Fund (IMF) to support civil society organisations to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS and gender-based violence (GBV) including Female Genital Mutilation.
