About NAS Print

The National HIV/AIDS Secretariat has made substantial progress since it became effective five years ago. Many activities have been implemented under the Sierra Leone HIV/AIDS response project (SHARP), through the combined effort of all four-project components. NAS component heads have used a mix of communication channels to disseminate information about activity progress and outputs. The predominant communication channels utilized thus far are through the use of print materials (reports), the electronic media (radio and television) and through workshops and seminars.

Although NAS has succeeded in reaching a substantial number of persons in the target audiences, the coverage has been limited. Many stakeholders working in Sierra Leone who are contributing towards the national response in the fight against HIV/AIDS still have limited knowledge about the secretariats mission and activities interested stakeholders continue to visit the NAS to access information either verbally or from existing materials.

There is need for the NAS to make information about the Secretariat plans and activities more widely available to target stakeholders both locally and internationally. The NAS is therefore taking steps to accelerate plans for establishing a website.
